What is Faith?

Very simply faith is just believing what God says He will do.

Saving faith is trusting Christ as Saviour (John 3v16).

Walking by faith is taking God at His Word every moment of every day (cp. 2 Corinthians 5v7).

Faith defies all the odds and expects God to fulfil all His Promises (cp Matthew17v20; Hebrews 11v1).

Why have Faith?

Faith in God is no new thing. Great men and women, even away back near the beginning of the world, had faith in God. Read about some great heroes of the faith in Hebrews chapter 11.

By faith they had a good report (Hebrews 11v2+39).

Without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews11v6).

How do we get Faith?

Saving faith is a gift of God (Ephesians 2v8+9).

Read, study and learn God's Word and our faith will grow (Romans 10v17).

What will Faith cause?

We will believe in the Almighty God who blesses obedience and punishes disobedience.

We will believe in creation, NOT evolution (Hebrews 11v3).

We will be justified (Romans 5v1; 4v3) - 'just as if I'd never sinned'

We will do good works to show we are saved (James 2v20+26).

Sometimes God will test our faith (James 1v3). But this will prove that our faith in God is real!

Who am I?

Find the answers in Hebrews chapter 11

I left my home at the call of God, not knowing where I went.

My faith was tested when God asked me to sacrifice my son.

I had this testimony that I pleased God.

I was translated, so that I did not die.

I chose to suffer with God's people, rather than enjoy the pleasures of sin.

I kept the blood sacrifice of the Passover, which pictures Christ.

I was a sinful Canaanite woman, but God forgave me.

My faith led me to keep the spies and be saved from death in Jericho.

I offered a more excellent sacrifice than my brother.

I died for my faith in God.

I feared God and obeyed His warning of coming judgement.

By faith I built the big ark and saw my family saved.
